Nanette Hunter is a native of Oakland, California. She is the President/CEO of D-Unique Tools Inc., a bay area company founded by her father Mike Hunter.
She was instrumental in targeting and developing accounts with The Home Depot, HD Supply-White Cap Construction, Ace Hardware, and Lowes.
She has received the following Home Depot awards: The Home Depot Top Minority Supplier and The Home Depot Women Star Supplier. Her company has also been highlighted several times by The Home Depot during the National Minority Supplier Development Council and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council Conferences.
Ms. Hunter graduated from California State University, Hayward with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She is also a graduate of the Dartmouth College Tuck Executive Education Program and UCLA Anderson School of Management Executive Education Program.
Her work experience includes working in the banking industry, coordinating special events and developing youth programs.
Ms. Hunter has been a participant in the Entrepreneur Mentoring Program, an Inc. Magazine and William J. Clinton Foundation Partnership.
She was selected as the 2011 British Airways Face of Opportunity Winner. This program provides small business owners and entrepreneurs the critical tools for building business relationships abroad and stimulating growth through the power of face to face interaction. She traveled to China, France, and United Kingdom to have face to face business meetings.
She enjoys traveling, camping, dragon boat paddling, bike riding and entertaining family and friends.
