A self-taught graphic designer with a Certified Advertising Specialist credential, held by only 5% of professionals in the promotional industry, Vicki has established herself as a leader in her field. In 2023, Vicki was recognized with the ‘Trusted Advisor’ Award from WBEC East for her positive impact and mentorship. Vicki utilizes her creative and strategic thinking to bring innovation and solutions to her clients. She focuses on a people-first approach, building strong relationships with her clients, and serving as a trusted advisor.

How have you driven or influenced ACCELERATION for women-owned businesses within your network?

I’ve been a WBEC East Envoy for over 13 years. I always tell fellow WBEs that it’s important to be out and about, attend as many events as possible, and get involved! It’s not about selling but rather building relationships and helping one another to grow and connect. I always say people cannot do business with you if they don’t know you exist. In 2023, I won the ‘Trusted Advisor’ Award from WBEC East for my positive impact and mentorship of women business owners.

What does “ACCELERATE” mean to you in the context of the WBENC network?

To me, ACCELERATE means strengthening the connections made in the WBENC network for more business opportunities and stronger relationships. The focus on networking, learning, and sharing ideas and resources will lead to ACCELERATION.

Can you share personal strategies or actions that have successfully AMPLIFIED efforts in the WBENC community over the past year? How can those strategies be built upon to ACCELERATE outcomes in 2025?

Since starting my business, continuous networking has always been one of my personal strategies. It’s important to be seen and heard. People like to do business with people they know, like, and trust. I’ve met many wonderful people and made great connections that turned into many business opportunities. In addition, I always deliver what I promised, which builds my reputation and credibility for my business. We just celebrated 16 years in business. It’s really a sweet 16, as this is our best year with record sales! I will keep the momentum and accelerate more in 2025!

For business owners and leaders who are looking to ACCELERATE their success, what key advice or actionable steps would you recommend for them to implement today?

My first advice is to focus on doing great work and going above and beyond. If you do a great job, people will know. If you do a bad job, more people will know! It’s important to build trust and credibility and deliver on the brand promise. My second piece of advice is you need to focus on marketing. You need to spend money to make money.

Marketing is not an expense; it’s an investment for the business. When you work with the right company, you will see a return on the investment and generate revenue.

What suggestions would you like to share with a newly certified WBE who is looking to get involved in the WBENC community?

Attend as many events as you can and learn as much as you can! Knowledge is power!
