Michelle Taylor is the President and CEO of BETAH Associates, Inc. (BETAH), an award-winning communications and professional services firm that has thrived for over 37 years. Her journey took a significant turn after the passing of her mother, Wilhelmina Bell-Taylor, the founder of BETAH. Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Michelle stepped into her leadership role, eager to honor her mother’s remarkable legacy.  

Michelle describes herself as a “Sudden to Successful CEO.” Under her resilient leadership, BETAH has earned numerous accolades, including recognition as one of Inc. magazine’s fastest-growing companies and a spot on the list of the top 20 marketing communications firms in government contracting by GrowthLab. In 2024, BETAH was honored with the Department of Health and Human Services Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year award, recognizing its outstanding contributions to the agency’s mission.  

With over 25 years of experience in communications, marketing, and community engagement, Michelle received several honors, including the 2022 Enterprising Women of the Year award and recognition as one of Maryland’s Top 50 Women Leaders. She believes in doing good and doing well as a founding member of the BOW Collective and co-founder and chair of the Montgomery County Black Collective. Additionally, she serves on the boards of The Children’s Inn at NIH and Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center and is Chair Emerita of the Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce. 

Passionate about uplifting others—particularly women—Michelle is excited to launch a new coaching and creative consulting firm. This venture aims to support individuals navigating life’s “suddenlies” with purpose and resilience. Throughout all her endeavors, Michelle exemplifies authenticity, courage, and a genuine desire to foster growth and grace in those around her. Beyond BETAH, she is a devoted dog mom, fun-loving auntie, an avid cookie baker, a tenacious golf student, and an orange-rooting graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
