President & CEO

Gia Machlin is the President & CEO of EcoPlum, a social enterprise she founded in 2007. EcoPlum offers branded marketing solutions with its Sustainable Swag® line of promotional products. EcoPlum, a certified B Corporation and certified women-owned business, helps buyers make responsible choices on branded gifts – a visible symbol of their values – with the goal of reducing plastic and other harmful waste in our landfills and oceans.

Gia and EcoPlum have been featured on ForbesBooks Radio, Impact! Podcast, Crain’s New York, INC. Magazine, and many other business publications and media.

Prior to founding EcoPlum, Gia co-founded Plan Data Management, Inc. (PDM), and grew it into a thriving software and data services provider servicing Fortune 500 companies. PDM was acquired by a public company in 2006. Gia received her M.B.A. with honors from the Columbia Business School, and she received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research with honors from Columbia Engineering.

Gia is a long-time member of the Women Presidents’ Organization and a founding member of the Columbia Business School Alumni Club’s Sustainable Business Committee. She is co-chair of the NYC Young Enterprising Women Mentoring Forum. Gia serves as Board Chair of the Blue Card, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides cash assistance to needy Holocaust survivors. She is a recipient of the 2020 Enterprising Women of the Year Award.
