Molly is a visionary leader and self-made entrepreneur with an unwavering passion for eliminating chaos. That drive led her to the telecom optimization field over three decades ago, at a time when no formal training existed. Undeterred, Molly immersed herself in the industry, learning directly from seasoned engineers and mentors. Through hands-on experience and deep curiosity, she identified critical gaps in the market, sparking the founding of The BAZ Group.

From the very beginning, Molly absorbed insights from every client interaction and technical collaboration, steadily building a reputation for tackling complex, high-stakes projects. For business owners and leaders who are looking to ACCELERATE their success, what key advice or actionable steps would you recommend for them to implement today?

What you know has gotten you where you are. The best way to accelerate your success is to open your mind to new ideas and to find new resources. Be a sponge. Take training courses. Listen to podcasts. Talk to experts. Figure out what is needed to get you want to go and then find the resources to get you there.

Invest in resources if you want to accelerate, otherwise you will be the bottleneck that stifles your growth.

What strategies do you use to stay motivated and inspired as a leader?

My “big why” is seeing our employees grow both personally and professionally. The skills they learn at BAZ, like clear communication, accountability, attention to detail, and collaboration, aren’t just for work. They are tools for achieving amazing things in life. As long as a significant chunk of my time is spent directly working with members of my team as they develop these interpersonal and complex business skills, I am happy and inspired.

What is one of your proudest achievements in your business journey?

At BAZ, we have always done amazing work for our clients and regularly exceed expectations. I have had many proud business moments when I solved a ridiculously complex problem or found a surprisingly large amount of savings for a client, but none of these moments stand out to me over time. My proudest achievements are all related to the personal and professional development of my team members. The first 15 years of BAZ, my team turned to me for guidance and direction with nearly every decision. We were doing amazing client work together, but I realized that I was the only one stretching myself to meet new challenges. How could BAZ be a great place for employees to learn and grow, if I was the only one growing? This was when I realized that I HAD to grow the company if I was going to develop the positive, transformative work environment that I was passionate about.

Nothing makes me prouder than watching my team take ownership of important, complex challenges and come away with a major win for themselves, our clients, and BAZ as a whole.

What suggestions would you like to share with a newly certified WBE who is looking to get involved in the WBENC community?

Invest in relationships. Have fun getting to know people and ask a lot of questions. This network is a wonderful place to have your perspective broadened and to run into ideas that you didn’t even realize you needed to help you grow yourself personally and grow your business.

What legacy do you hope to leave in the business community?

I want to leave a company that is truly a force for good in the world. When I was in my 20’s I wanted to change the world, but I didn’t know how. I noticed that people were often unfulfilled in their work. I wanted to create a great place to work that actually enhances people’s lives. We are building a place that is functional, supportive and transformational. If I am successful, way beyond my tenure here, BAZ will be a place that challenges and supports people to be the very best version of themselves that they can be, and their families will thank BAZ for the positive impact we have on them.
