Veena Krishman

Daybird

Co-Founder and CEO

Veena Krishnan (she/her) is the Co-Founder and CEO of Daybird, an anti-beauty beauty club taking back ownership of what beauty means to them through clean and vegan multitasking skincare and makeup hybrid products. As a South Asian woman and daughter of two immigrants, the idea of covering and curing her face didn’t resonate with Veena as she struggled to even find products on the shelf that matched her skin tone when she was younger. This ultimately inspired her to build Daybird and a brand that allows people to redefine their relationship with beauty.

Veena is a chemical engineer with an expertise in supply chain and operations. She started her career at ExxonMobil, where she led manufacturing operations, commercial supply chain relationships, and regulatory compliance. Veena is passionate about building strong relationships to create a flawless customer experience and optimize product development and supply chain. She loves connecting with customers and seeing how products directly impact their lives. Veena has leveraged her engineering expertise to give her an edge at consumer startups like Quince and GrowSquares. She brings a deep understanding of integrated processes and how to efficiently scale them, and she has helped multiple early-stage consumer startups assemble and understand their supply chains.

Veena grew up in Austin, Texas, and often credits her entrepreneurial journey to her father, who has been involved in the Austin tech startup ecosystem for over 20 years. These days, she can either be found in Chicago, or traveling and working remotely with her husband and dog. She holds a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
