Program Walker Supplier Diversity

Tamika Walker leads the Global Purchasing and Manufacturing Services organization for General Motors’ Supplier Diversity Program. In this role, Tamika is responsible for anticipating opportunities and executing initiatives that are critical to GM’s short- & long-term growth strategies for its diverse supply base that aid in driving innovation.

Tamika began her career journey in 2011, as an intern in Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. After the completion of her internship, Tamika gained breath in the company, by working in various roles such as a buyer in Global Purchasing, where she managed solutions & policies to support GM’s global business. Customer Experience, where she played an integral role in equipping the business with the right tools to increase the satisfaction of GM’s customers within its dealerships. Lastly, Marketing & Communications where she connected GM’s customers to the innovation of OnStar, while delivering analytical insights to internal cross functional teams.

In addition to her core responsibilities, Tamika is the Program Executor for General Motor’s African Ancestry Network (GMAAN) Adopt-A-Child Program where she works with a non-profit organization to help unprivileged youth in Detroit reimagine what it means to have a wonderful holiday season. She is responsible for the strategy & execution of the program.

Tamika holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Oakland University and a M.B.A from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
