Director, Supplier Diversity Enterprise Supplier Management (ESM)

As Director of Supplier Diversity and ESM’s Management Rotational Program, Reuben leads a team responsible for driving the strategy for Capital One’s award winning Supplier Diversity program which seeks to develop and grow diverse owned businesses as well as growing Capital One’s spend with diverse-owned businesses. His responsibilities also include recruiting college talent and developing them for the next leaders of ESM.

Previously, Reuben Essandoh served as a transactions attorney when he joined Capital One as a Contract Manager, specializing and supporting Technology and Digital contracts in 2011. He has led the contracts team supporting several categories including Human Resources, Brand, Governmental Affairs, Commercial Bank and Treasury.

Before joining Capital One, Reuben was a Senior Consultant at KPMG where he led the delivery of attestation engagements for clients in several industry groups.
A Board member of the Carolinas Virginia Supplier Development Council (CVMSDC), he serves as the Treasurer. He is also a board member of Elk Hill, an organization that supports at-risk youth, and Celebrate RVA. Reuben loves to give back.

Reuben is a CPA and an attorney, and holds a law degree from Duquesne University. He makes his home in Richmond, VA with his wife Afua and their two children, Michael and Maya.
