Upstream Supply Chain Advisor

Marieugenia (Maru) Suarez Williams is a Supply Chain Management Advisor within Chevron Corporate Procurement/Supply Chain (PSCM) organization, a position she has held since October 2020 and located in Houston, Texas. In this role, she is responsible for leading efforts to shape the Procurement and Supply Chain strategies and plans for the 6 highest capital investment business units in Chevron’s global portfolio across North America region and Shale & Tight assets. She also leads the functional P/SCM Lower Carbon strategy in support of Chevron Energy Transition objectives. She serves as the chief of staff to the Upstream SCM general manager. Prior to her current role, she was the Global Category Management, Support Manager in Corporate PSCM, in which she co-led the global category management functional transformation. In addition, she orchestrated the 2020 Global PSCM response to COVID-19 and low oil prices which ranked Top 3 for the World Commerce Associations’ 2020 Innovation and Excellence Award

Maru is passionate about diversity and inclusion. She chairs the Chevron Gulf Coast Executive Women Group, with more than 200 members across US Gulf Coast, Colorado, and South America

Maru began her career with Chevron Boscan field, Venezuela in the Operations & Maintenance group. In 2005, she joined the Latin America Business Unit as part of the Supply Chain Leadership Development Program. During the next years, she held positions of increasing responsibility in Venezuela, Argentina, and United States including Global Logistics Category Management – Group Manager, Head of Supply Chain Management for Energy Technology Center, Midcontinent Business Unit as strategic procurement manager, and various Corporate Procurement SCM leadership roles in Houston.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, and her MBA in Arizona State University.
