Founder & CEO

Junita Flowers is a published author, a TEDx speaker and an entrepreneur. Prior to her journey in entrepreneurship, Junita spent nearly two decades leading within the nonprofit sector in various roles, including Youth and Family Legislative Policy Advocate and Founding Executive Director of a shelter for families experiencing homelessness.

In July 2018, she launched Junita’s Jar, a nationally distributed cookie company blending the power of hope and the enjoyment of snacking into a delightful cookie. Inspired by the rich traditions of using food to bring people togethe, Junita’s Jar represents both the sweet childhood memories of time spent in the kitchen with her family and the unpleasant adulthood memories from time spent in an abusive relationship and bringing those two things together to make a difference.

Junita is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and currently serves as co-chair of the Great Dreams 3-year Capital Campaign, dedicated to raising money to support programs and services for survivors of relationship violence.
