In 1992 O.N.E. Company was formed, and Brenda is one of four principals.  O.N.E., which stands for Opportunities for Neighborhood Empowerment, is a development and consulting corporation specializing in affordable housing and economic development.  It is a group of women professionals who bring together a broad range of expertise, including financing, planning and management, construction management, and community liaison.  O.N.E. Company has projects across the nation.

In 2000 Curtom-Dunsmuir, A Joint Venture was formed.  The principal officers of Curtom-Dunsmuir are Brenda Curry and Ronnie Jones.  Curtom-Dunsmuir has worked on projects in the public and private sectors.  These projects include historic renovations (2nd Baptist Church, Casa de Rosas), construction of apartment complexes (Rosa Parks Villas, Ward Villas, Pasqual Reyes Apartments), and retail stores.  Curtom-Dunsmuir renovated the Hollywood Park Casino, participated in the renovation of the Forum, and participated in the construction of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.  Curtom-Dunsmuir is a preferred general contractor for Wells Fargo Bank, CVS Health, and Target Corporation; and has successfully completed Target Stores across the nation.

The firm’s growth is due to its ability to earn a reputation for high quality, cost effective and on-time completion of projects.  Attention to risk management and implementation of safety controls ensures the highest degree of project success.  Curtom is selective about the projects it participates in.  It is important that the projects are well designed, complement the immediate community and include amenities and services that will empower the residents.  Typically, on CURTOM projects extensive outreach is performed to ensure maximum participation from other women and minority owned firms.  Further, Curtom insists that subcontractors on their projects hire local residents and women as part of their workforce.
