Building off the momentum generated from the Thriving with Capital One virtual events throughout 2022 and the first Thriving with Capital One in-person event at the Georgetown Capital One Cafe in D.C., the WBENC LIFT Financial Center of Excellence was thrilled to kick off 2023 with two In-Person, Interactive Networking and Learning Sessions in Arizona and California!
At these sessions, our network:
- Connected with Capital One Supplier Diversity and Capital One small business bankers
- Learned about the Capital One money & life mentor program
- Examined how to adapt financial behaviors to better achieve business goals
- Learned about additional small business resources in local areas at the Capital One Cafés
- Networked and connected with other small business owners in the area

Thriving with Capital One: Crack the Code to Increase Sales
Thriving with Capital One continued to build on the great success of 2022 with its first community activation of 2023 at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Café. On February 1st, 50 small diverse and women-owned businesses, community members and Capital associates joined for Thriving the Capital One Scottsdale.
The interactive networking and business development event featured leading instructor Dr. Sharon Lamm Hartman, CEO of Inside Out Learning. Sharon led an engaging session helping business owners crack the code and find their “it factor” to increase sales and develop their true Authenticity Code. Business owners connected with small business bankers from Capital One and fellow entrepreneurs from across the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.
WBEC-West President and CEO Pamela Williamson joined to highlight some of the amazing programs and opportunities across the WBENC networking to engage both nationally and locally. WBENC and Capital One received great feedback from the event.

The WBENC Thriving with Capital One event in Los Angeles, CA was a huge success! We had a lineup of WBEs ready to pitch, deep diving into their targets, sharing best practices and what was working in-market to drive sales.
