Our Financial Literacy Series is a free 4-week workshop that helps entrepreneurs and prospective business owners to understand the fundamentals of finance. This series, hosted in partnership with Urban Affairs Coalition and Truist Bank, will prepare you for access to capital and business financial success.

The Financial Literacy Series Workshops:

July 12th – Week 1: Business Finance Basics In this first week, we will help you understand the basics of managing your business cashflow, building and expanding your business finances, and financially protecting your business.

July 19th – Week 2: Separating Business and Personal Finances What is the link between and separation of business and personal finances? How do you pay yourself? In this week’s workshop we outline different business structures and how they impact organizing your finances. We’ll also introduce you to various financial accounts and tools.

July 26th – Week 3: Borrowing for Small Business This week’s workshop will focus on where to find funding for your business, what lenders look for, what the borrowing process entails, and how to create your business borrowing profile.

August 2nd – Week 4: Put Your Financial Statements to Work In our series final, we go from theory to practice! We’ll outline how to use your income statements and balance sheet, use financial information to help run your business, establish financial benchmarks, and ask for advice as you continue towards financial success.

Register once to receive information for all workshops included within the series. Attending all four workshops is not a requirement. This entire series is free, and each workshop is held on a Wednesday from 6:00PM – 7:30PM.
