In celebration of Women’s History Month and in the spirit of women helping other women succeed, CWE is hosting a series of “HELP! Clinics” throughout the month of March. These workshops are tailored to address common problems WBEs face or points of confusion when navigating the supplier diversity world.
Our final event in our HELP! Clinic series with be hosted by Amine Benali, Managing Director, and Chris Hunter, Financial Analyst, from LEAF (Local Enterprise Assistance Fund). LEAF lends nationally, with a focus on community-owned natural food cooperatives that create high quality jobs and provide access to healthy food in urban and rural communities; low-income cooperative housing developments; and worker-owned firms and other community-based businesses and social enterprises. Since its founding over 30 years ago, LEAF has invested and leveraged over $122 million, resulting in the creation or retention of more than 10,300 jobs.
In this session, Amine and Chris will discuss the basics of accessing capital, the challenges new entrepreneurs face in doing so, and some innovative ways you can think of to tap into it to grow your business. Whether you’re a new business owner or the impacts from the pandemic have you looking for new ways to find financial assistance, this session will be a fantastic way to establish a baseline of understanding and begin to branch out in thinking of how to access capital for your growing business!
