By Candace Waterman, WIPP President & CEO

For years, I helped women business owners apply for and attain their Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification through WBENC. Last year, I became the President & CEO of Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), and we became WBENC's first National Partner Organization. This partnership that allows us to work strategically, ensuring women entrepreneurs have an advocacy voice in the Nation's Capital. We are truly joining forces to succeed together.

That is why I am so excited to welcome WOSBs as well as WBEs to join us for the upcoming 2019 WIPP Business Leadership Conference: Changing the Game from June 23 to 25 at the Washington Court Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Hosted a few blocks from the U.S. Capitol, the WIPP conference is the largest national gathering tailored to help women business owners understand the federal contracting landscape, build the capacity to compete, leverage their assets to grow their businesses, and advocate for parity in the process. Convening just before the WBENC National Conference & Business Fair, the WIPP conference provides you an opportunity to maximize and leverage your time by attending both events.

Speaker Announcement

Emily Murphy, GSA Administrator, will speak at our conference! The GSA will be celebrating their 70th Anniversary this summer, and Ms. Murphy give us a glimpse at what's ahead for the one of the largest contracting agencies in the federal government space.

Programming

WIPP will be hosting 14 concurrent sessions, including curriculum tailored to emerging businesses in the government contracting space, which will include sessions such as Managing Your Contract and Pricing for Profitability. What we’ve heard from members already established in the government space is the need for advanced training along the lines of Human Capital & HR and an in-depth discussion of the GSA Schedule Consolidation.

Networking

Meet, learn, and advocate with women-owned businesses as well as the government agencies, corporations, and prime suppliers who want to work with them. This is your time to make connections, cement relationships, and establish a path for follow-up.

Are you already planning on attending WBENC's National Conference & Business Fair in Baltimore? WIPP will provide ground transportation to our registered attendees, first-come, first-served from Washington, D.C. to Baltimore on Tuesday, June 25 at 11 a.m. Register today to get the best of both worlds!
