Countdown to Detroit: Stay Active with the Corporate Fitness Works HealthTrails Challenge

We know it can be hard to stay healthy on the road, especially when your energy and focus is on networking, learning and exploring new business opportunities. So we are making it simple by incorporating wellness activities into each day of our upcoming WBENC National Conference & Business Fair, including daily yoga, physical and mental health boosts at our Wellness Activity Center, and a friendly fitness competition from Corporate Fitness Works. Today, Brenda Loube, Co-Founder and President of Corporate Fitness Works, shares more details about the HealthTrails challenge and why it’s about more than just steps.

Imagine taking time out from a conference to wander through a cool city with like-minded women, discovering new attractions and networking – all while being active and tracking your progress.

This idea will be a reality at this year’s WBENC National Conference and Business Fair. It’s called the Corporate Fitness Works HealthTrails challenge, which records your activity throughout the conference while providing you a virtual tour of Detroit. Whether you’re walking the halls of the Cobo Center or Detroit’s downtown, the goal is to log your steps and make meaningful connections at the same time. Leave the sweet drinks at home, too, because the challenge will monitor your non-sugar beverage intake during the conference.

So, what’s in it for you?

Beyond staying active and networking with other attendees, the 20 participants who record the most miles and healthy behaviors will have their names put into a drawing for a GX Trainer Water Rower, donated by our partners at Life Fitness.

Of course, the true grand prize is the meaningful connections you’ve made and the healthy behaviors you’ll pass onto your colleagues after the conference.

Participation is easy. Follow these steps to get in on the challenge today:

  1. Register online:
  2. Set up your account: Follow the prompts to upload your photo, set a personal health goal and connect your device or app for tracking distance. 
  3. Get the app: Download the HealthTrails app. If you have an Apple device, go to the devices page in the HealthTrails app to sync with Apple Health. 
  4. Begin logging activity on June 19: The HealthTrails challenge begins Tuesday, June 19 and ends Thursday, June 21 at 3 p.m.
