The WBENC team is an active group. When we’re not planning events, managing programs, or assisting WBEs and Corporate Members, you will often find us out and about at area events and conferences to network, promote WBENC, and support women entrepreneurs.
Last month, Nettie Teter, WBENC’s Senior Project Manager of Marketing, attended an exciting event in Austin as one of our Corporate Members, Office Depot, Inc. rolled out a new business platform aimed at helping small businesses and entrepreneurs.
BizBox Austin Grand Opening
January 30, 2018
BizBox Flagship Store, Austin, Texas
Why We Went:
WBENC Corporate Member, Office Depot, Inc., launched the new business transformation, BizBox, with a simple notion: to “help small businesses succeed.” BizBox is a new business services platform that aims to provide start-ups and small business leaders access to the core services needed to start and grow a business.
In January, Office Depot opened BizBox services at 14 Office Depot stores in Austin, Texas and held a grand opening ceremony to introduce the concept to the local business community.
The event, sponsored by Fast Company and Inc. Magazine, highlighted Austin’s local small businesses with a panel of some local entrepreneurs, including Miguel Garza of Siete Foods, Tyler Haney of Outdoor Voices, and Katie Forrest of EPICbar. The BizBox flagship location also highlighted local businesses in their retail section with a “Shop Local” kiosk filled with local Austin gift and products.
The theme of the event was Hustle & Grow, which is exactly what BizBox hopes entrepreneurs and small businesses are able to do more of using their services.
