Q: What did you do before you started at WBENC?

A: I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s in Biology in May 2018, and spent a month in Detroit following graduation to complete the Humanity in Action Fellowship. Throughout college, I’ve continued to work on my venture - Freshspire Inc.

I learned about WBENC through our amazing Student Entrepreneur Program (SEP). I was the 2nd place pitch competition winner for SEP in 2016, and returned as an alumni mentor for the program in 2017. When I finished my Fellowship in Detroit, the appropriate next step seemed to be moving to DC to work for WBENC where I could support female founders every day!

Q: What keeps you busy at WBENC?

A: The best part about working at WBENC is that no two days are the same. As an Executive Associate, I get to work with everyone! Some of the main projects I work on include the Student Entrepreneur Program, Top Corporations, WeInnovate!, Catapult, and media partnerships.

Q: What is your favorite part of working at WBENC?

A: My favorite part about working at WBENC is that we work as a team. Although everyone has their specialties in specific departments, we work together to carry out the vision and mission of WBENC every single day. Being based in DC has its own perks as well!

Q: What do you do for fun outside of work?

A: Outside of work, I enjoy running outside, going to the gym, and attending dance practice! After moving to DC, I joined GW University’s Raas Team. We practice 3-4 times a week to prepare for national competitions. I’ve done Raas, a form of Indian Folkdance that originates from the state of Gujarat, since I was 10 years old. I am glad that I could continue pursuing dance after moving to DC. I also love to cook, read, and spend time outdoors.

Q; What are you passionate about?

A: I am passionate about making an impact through all the work that I do. Whether it’s performing well at work, leaving all my energy on the stage while dancing, or continuously pursuing all my side hustles, I am dedicated to leaving an impact on others. A question I often ask myself is: Why do you do what you do? Impact is what drives my purpose every single day.

Q. Where is your favorite place in the world?

A. My favorite place in the world is on a greenway or trail. I love listening to the sounds of nature while cranking out a few miles!
