The WBENC team is an active group. When we’re not planning events, managing programs, or assisting WBEs and Corporate Members, you will often find us out and about at area events and conferences to network, promote WBENC, and support women entrepreneurs.
Last week, three members of our team attended the Vinetta Project Venture Challenge Showcase here in Washington, DC.

Why We Went
The Vinetta Project is a venture ecosystem intentionally designed to foster and fuel female entrepreneurs. One of the biggest obstacles for the next generation of female entrepreneurs is access to capital, and Vinetta is dedicated to financing these women.
The DC Chapter of the Vinetta Project hosted the event, which consisted of a panel discussion with a committee of investors and a showcase where contestants pitched to the judges and answered questions regarding their pitches. There were four contestants, with pitches ranging from community solar to data analytics in medicine and transport.
Like WBENC, the Vinetta Project is looking to foster business opportunities for female entrepreneurs and we are thrilled to see more of these types of collaborative opportunities arise for women-owned businesses. We also love introducing WBENC and the value of certification to entrepreneurial communities and look forward to fostering new connections with the Vinetta Project, their investors and the contestants.
