“What’s Your Number” in Action at Women’s Business Council Southwest Event

At their annual Harvesting Partnerships Educational Symposium event on September 8th, 2016, at DFW Airport, Texas, the Women’s Business Council – Southwest incorporated the “What’s Your Number?” WBENC campaign as a networking and icebreaker game.

Upon check in, the 350 attendees received an explanation of the activity. Each person wrote their number on their name tag and each name tag also had a colored dot designating if they were a WBENC-Certified WBE, a Corporate Member, a new member, or a non-member.  During the networking time, each attendee had to speak with someone from each color category and ask what their number represented. If they wrote down the person’s name for each color category that they met, they were entered into a drawing for a prize.

During the luncheon, Cheryl Stevens reiterated the instructions and told the crowd her two numbers – 30 and 30,000. She wants to have 30 applications next year for the Lillie Knox Investing for Growth Grant and 30,000 dollars in donations for the grant.

The activity was very popular among the attendees and helped to increase networking during the event.
