Update on WBENC's Natoinal Conference and Business Fair from Center for Women & Enterprise
ABLE Innovations, a nationally-recognized provider of language services, received their WBENC certification from the Center for Women & Enterprise in 2006. Following their certification they decided to exhibit at the WBENC national conference the following year. “We normally “walk” a conference/exhibit before actually exhibiting ourselves but the WBENC conference was so compelling in its nature with large, well know corporations participating, that we decided to exhibit right away,” stated Kaarina Kvaavik, Chief Business Officer/Owner, ABLE Innovations. “It was a decision that has paid off for us, both in regards to getting a foot in the door with potential prospects as well as getting new clients. We’re proud to have numerous Fortune 500 companies as our clients and the WBENC conference has enabled us to substantially increase our client base and revenue.”
The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women start and grow their own businesses. Now in its 15th year, with offices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, CWE is the New England affiliate for Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), serving as their certification arm for women-owned businesses. WBENC Certification is nationally recognized in helping established women business owners access new corporate contracts with organizations that are actively seeking supplier diversity. CWE provides education, training, technical assistance, legal consulting and access to capital, to ensure that all women, regardless of their economic status, will have the opportunity to start and run their own businesses.
