Future of WBENC
The next decade for WBENC holds many exciting changes and opportunities for its Corporate Members
and certified Women's Business Enterprises alike. WBENC will be launching a Global Business Initiative that will include
mentoring “sister organizations” in other countries that will provide certification that confirms the business is at least 51% woman (or women) owned, operated and controlled, which is the WBENC certification standard. This
initiative will also assist our US-based WBEs as they enter the global business supply chain.
With these programs, WBENC will assist our WBEs is establishing partnerships, joint ventures and
channels of outsourcing for their own businesses.
The future will also hold advanced education classes for our Corporate Members. The 2007 Women In
Business conference will be the first WBENC conference to hold workshop tracks designated for both
basic and advanced levels of corporate supplier diversity representatives. This split-education
approach will be continued throughout the year through WBENC’s Member Services Department.
LiveMeetings™ regarding WBENC’s membership database (WBENClink), events, programs and other
services will be sectioned by using either the maturity level of the corporation’s individual supplier
diversity program, their industry, their geographic location or their specific sourcing guidelines.
