Global Initiatives
The mission of the WBENC GBC is to build awareness of and provide education about the role of certified women's business enterprises (WBEs) in the growing globalization of economies, supply chains and business opportunities. The Committee strives to connect WBENC, its corporate members and WBEs to multi-national corporations, international institutions, governmental and non-governmental organization initiatives and forums around the world that share WBENC's focus on fostering business opportunities, training for growth, and alliance building for WBEs.
2008 International Day
WBENC’s "International Day" is an additional program that enhances the Women in Business (WIB) conference. The mission is to educate WBEs, supply chain managers, and supplier diversity staff of multinational corporations on how to do business together in the international marketplace. It featured insightful workshops focused on international business engagement. The expert speakers ranged from James Mallard, Vice President of Procurement, UPS to Lorely Burt, Member of Parliament, United Kingdom. More than 125 individuals attended the event.
